A lovely relaxing holiday on Gilwern Queen

We have had a lovely, relaxing holiday on the Gilwern Queen, a real change form mainline canals. The hand over from Nigel was exceptional and very informative. Everything on board was very clean and had everything one could require on a break.

We eat out in the evenings and really enjoyed the Tapas from the Towpath Inn, Jamaican from the Horseshoe at Llangattock. Very friendly staff at the Star Inn & White Hart at Talybont and good pub grub at the Red Lion in Llangynidr. Finally a fantastic fish menu at the Coach & Horses, also at Llangynidr.

The volunteer lock keepers are very helpful and informative. Scenery outstanding in all weathers & an exceptionally clean canal and towpath. A credit to all involved.
