HOW TO BOOK
Please check with us by email or telephone 01873 830240 to make sure that the boat you want is available.
Then print out our Booking Form, complete it and send it to us with your payment.
Please make sure you read and agree to our Conditions of Hire below.
CONDITIONS OF HIRE
A boat is not booked until a completed and signed booking form and deposit has been received by us. All crew names should be shown on the form. Changes of crew are not permitted during the hire period except by prior agreement with us.
The Hirer is responsible for the whole of the Hire Fee, the balance of which is due one month before the hire date.
Should the Hirer be prevented from taking over the boat on the date booked, he/she will nevertheless remain responsible for the whole of the balance of the Hire Fee. Holiday Cancellation Insurance is included in the booking fee to cover cancellation due to illness/injury/death etc (details supplied on request). In circumstances not covered by insurance we will endeavour to re-let the boat and if this is possible, only the deposit will be forfeit.
The owners have a policy of continual improvement and reserve the right to alter craft and/or equipment without giving prior notice.
Hirings commence at 2pm on the Saturday booked. The boat must be returned to the owners moorings and vacated no later than 9am on the Saturday of return.
HIRERS RESPONSIBILITY
The Hirer will be shown over the boat and its equipment and offered initial guidance on handling the boat as necessary. After this the Hirer becomes responsible for the boat and its equipment. We use all reasonable care to ensure that the boat is in good condition when handed over, but no responsibility is accepted for loss of time, non-fulfilment of programmes or expense through any defect, breakdown or accident to the boat, equipment or machinery.
Particular care should be given to the correct operation of locks (refer to information we provide) as the Hirer is responsible for any claims made by British Waterways for loss of water or damage to property.
In the event of curtailment of the holiday through accident or illness of the Hirer, we will help with transport and take over responsibility of returning the boat to base.
We cannot accept responsibility for delays or limits to cruising due to British Waterways directives. No return of Hire Fees can be made in these circumstances.
OWNERS RIGHTS
We reserve the right to refuse to hand over a boat to any Hirer we consider not suitable to take charge. In such a case the Hire Fee will be returned in full and all liability of the Hirer and ourselves shall cease. In addition we reserve the right to terminate the hire of a boat at any time if the conduct of the Hirer endangers or gives offence to other waterway users. In these circumstances we will take over the responsibility of returning the boat to our base.

Our boats hold British Waterways Boat Safety Certificates and are covered by current Licences and Insurance.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require clarification of any of the above.
